Server Armory is proud to announce the opening of the Southeast region’s premier data center in Hammond, Louisiana. Particular attention was paid to selecting a site that offers structural soundness, high elevation, easy accessibility by all transportation modes, a tree-free environment, and superior data/internet connection availability. Our data center lies within a reinforced concrete building that is literally in the middle of a city block.
The owners of Server Armory demonstrated their extreme level of planning and resourcefulness by taking Data Protection Services, LLC (dataprotection.com) through Hurricane Katrina with ZERO downtime from our data center in downtown New Orleans. After a lengthy selection process, we chose to place our facility in Hammond.
We designed the Server Armory to meet Tier 4 performance classification standards, well beyond the customary Tier 1 and Tier 2 data centers in the region. Our dual generators each have dual fuel sources, giving us the ability to remain operational during any conceivable disaster. We have four major fiber feeds from four different carriers and are served from both east and west, virtually eliminating the risk that our data connections will be severed.
The facility and operations have recently undergone a SAS 70 Type II audit that is useful to clients who must meet regulatory compliance standards required by SOX, SEC, NASD, GLB, HIPAA and other organizations’ standards for data security such as the IRS and the PCI. Our successful SAS 70 Type II certification insures our claims are not just words, but independently verified by outside auditors.
